Leeds United is “tracking” Hull City youngster Alfie Taylor, with Leicester City and Crystal Palace also keen on his signature, according to TEAMtalk.
The Tigers are “bracing themselves” for offers for the 19-year-old defender, who has been playing with the club’s Under-18s and Under-23s in recent seasons.
He has also been training with the first-team squad and has recently been named on the bench for Liam Rosenior’s side.
“Leeds, Leicester, and Palace are all looking to bolster their defensive options in the summer and they see Taylor as someone with huge potential who they could develop into a Premier League player in the future,” according to TEAMtalk.
“Hull are determined to keep hold of the talented teenager, but they are bracing themselves for offers for Taylor when the transfer window reopens in the summer.”
Not only is there a bright future ahead for young defender Taylor, but there also looks set to be a big battle ahead concerning his signature.
Hull will, of course, be desperate to keep him at all costs and could promote him as a first-team regular next season as they look to improve upon their mid-table finish.
But there is the other side of the coin that involves the fee the Tigers could receive for their star youngster, with the likes of Leeds, Leicester, and Crystal Palace all more than capable of splashing the cash to land his signature.
The latter option will more than likely be the case given Hull’s previous dealings in the transfer market, with the Tigers helping develop the likes of Harry Maguire, Andy Robertson, and Jarrod Bowen before selling them on for profit.
Leeds has proven their tendency to give young players a chance but could find it very difficult to sign Taylor if the club is relegated to the Championship.
