world-class star delivers an important update on Newcastle United ahead of their clash against Arsenal

Newcastle United star Allan Saint-Maximin is closing in on a return from a hamstring injury.

Newcastle United are set to have Allan Saint-Maximin available for Sunday afternoon’s Premier League clash against Arsenal (kick-off 4:30 pm).

As reported by NewcastleWorld, Saint-Maximin was facing an extended spell on the sidelines after hurting his hamstring during the 5-1 win at West Ham United on Wednesday, April 5.

The Frenchman started his recovery in France and missed games against Brentford, Aston Villa, and Tottenham Hotspur. He returned to Tyneside last week but wasn’t deemed fit enough to be involved versus Everton and Southampton.

But the 25-year-old has seemingly confirmed his availability for the visit of Arsenal this weekend after posting on Instagram “ “I AM BACK 🖤🤍 FOREVER”.

He added: “Donc, tu n’es plus un esclave, mais enfant de Dieu. Et comme tu es son enfant, Dieu te donnera l’héritage qu’il garde pour ses enfants [So you are no longer a slave but a child of God. And as you are his child, God will give you the legacy he keeps for his children] ✝️.”

Speaking after the 3-1 win over Southampton on Sunday, head coach Edde Howe said: “We’re seeing improvements from Maxi.

“He’s been working with us now for a week. He’s been working hard with the physiotherapists. He’s still not with the sports scientists, there’s still a bit for him to do before he’s back training, but all positive signs.”

Prior to his injury, Saint-Maximin had started four consecutive games – his best run in the starting XI since August – and claimed back-to-back assists in victories over Manchester United and West Ham.

However, it has been a frustrating campaign for the player, with an early season hamstring issue restricting him to 11 Premier League starts.
