Gary Neville has delivered a shocking news prediction about leicester city’s relegation

The latest Leicester City news as the two Sky Sports pundits delivered their verdict on City’s chances of staying in the Premier League with two matches left to play.

Gary Neville has delivered a blunt verdict on Leicester City’s chances of surviving relegation to the Championship this season, stating that they’re ‘gone’ following defeat against Liverpool.

City had the chance to climb out of the relegation zone on Monday night, but a brace from Curtis Jones and a Trent Alexander-Arnold strike saw them fall to a 3-0 home loss against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

It means that relegation could be confirmed as early as next Monday should results not go City’s way and they lose against Newcastle at St James’ Park. It’s something that both Carragher and Neville can see happening.

The two pundits had a discussion about City’s chances of staying in the league following the defeat against Liverpool on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football. Here’s a look at how that discussion went.

Jamie Carragher: “I think when you look at next week’s fixtures for all teams, they’ve got by far the hardest one, probably the toughest place in the Premier League to go right now.

“What I would say about all those four teams is Nottingham Forest, Everton, Leeds at the moment still feels like there’s a little bit of a feel-good factor. The forest is on a decent run, Everton, ok we’ll accept a loss to Manchester City but before that a couple of good results, Leeds has got Sam Allardyce in now, two good results, not the end of the world losing at City, the crowd are behind them. But at Leicester, you hear the fans chanting ‘You’re not fit to wear the shirt’, going into training tomorrow, I don’t know how they lift themselves for Newcastle’s away game.

“Listen, they will lift themselves, they’ll have to, but it’s going to be a tough, long week for the manager and the players.”

Gary Neville: “We heard in the commentary they’ve canceled the days off, they’ve canceled the awards, I’m not sure that’s going to lift them at this stage of the season either, I think they look like a group of players who are beaten.

“Look, anything can happen, we know they could go and do something absolutely spectacular, but I genuinely feel Leicester tonight has gone, and there’s no coming back from it. I think most Leicester fans will feel exactly the same.

“I don’t want to see any team go down and I’d love to be proved wrong but I think that’s the end of them tonight.”

JC: “We’re talking about a team who finished eighth last season, and they’d have been disappointed with that, don’t forget, Brendan Rodgers was getting criticism last season for finishing eighth. To go from where they’ve been, fifth, fifth, eighth, and then to be in this position, they’ll have players who, are they ready for this battle? Are they ready for this fight? They certainly didn’t look it tonight, and they certainly didn’t look it last week at Fulham, that was a horrendous display when you’re fighting for your lives, it really was.”

GN: “I mean, if Everton were to win a game and Forest were to draw, which I think is quite realistic, they have to win both games. It’s not a case of they can win one and stay up, I think they have to definitely get a minimum of four points, and I think that won’t be enough, I think they have to win both games to stay up.

“I think the 85 percent there on the odds for them to go down will tell you basically that it’s a massive struggle for them. I think they’re gone.”
