Everton’s world-class young star is been monitored by billionaire-owned as summer transfer emerges

Everton star Amadou Onana is being watched by Arsenal ahead of a potential summer transfer after it emerged Granit Xhaka is close to leaving the club.

Everton

The Toffees star joined the club last summer and has been one of the stand-out performers this season as the club has battled against relegation.

And now the Belgian has emerged as a target for The Gunners, with The Express (16 May) reporting that Arsenal has “monitored” his performances over the course of the season ahead of a potential deal.

Current midfield option Xhaka is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract at The Emirates and is in “advanced talks” to join Bayer Leverkusen in the summer according to Fabrizio Romano (16 May).

That means Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster the midfield to strengthen and replace him, with Onana potentially filling that void.

Mega money

If Everton does end up getting relegated then Onana will surely leave the club because he is far too good to be playing in the second tier.

But there’s no way he should be allowed to leave on the cheap considering how much he has improved since joining last year and how much we invested in him.

The club must at least make a decent profit on him and with Arsenal linked with expensive signings like Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo then we know they have got a big budget to work with.

Financially we’re in an awful position so have less leverage to negotiate with, but we can’t be pushed over for our best players, and just like with Richarlison and Anthony Gordon we have to hold out and sell for our price or not at all.

Onana is going to have plenty of suitors whether we stay in the Premier League or not, and it seems as though Arsenal are very much in the hunt for his signature.

Isaac Price spotted in Belgium to seal Everton’s exit to Standard Liege

Isaac Price has been spotted in Belgium with Standard Liege to complete his transfer away from Everton for the summer window, according to Voetbal Krant (16 May).

Price is out of contract at the end of the season and is set to leave the club once his deal expires as he goes on the search for more regular first-team football elsewhere.

The midfielder hasn’t featured for the first team under Sean Dyche this season, and now a report in Belgium claims he is already in Europe to seal his deal having been spotted with his new club.

Shame

Price is a super-talented young player and looked to be on the brink of a first-team breakthrough under Frank Lampard at a point this season.

However, since he left the club Price hasn’t featured in the first-team picture at all and it’s no surprise at all that he is looking to leave the club and go elsewhere to find regular football.

He has been picked out by some as a player who could have made it here, but the club’s current situation means he didn’t know where he stood and the likelihood is that there was no pathway through anyway.

It’s a real shame for Everton considering they have brought through the likes of Jarrad Branthwaite, Ellis Simms, and Anthony Gordon in recent years that it seems to be the case now that there is no route through.

Price is all but gone and Everton will be getting peanuts for him if anything at all, and it’s our loss for not using him properly even when we’ve been struggling so badly and he could offer something different.
