Leeds United facing Leicester City competition for 46-year-old dubbed as ‘next Bielsa’

Blackburn Rovers manager Jon Dahl Tomasson is attracting interest from current Premier League clubs, including Leeds United and Leicester City.

There have already been a whole host of managerial changes at the bottom end of the Premier League this season, with Leeds responsible for two of them as they sacked Jesse Marsch in February and Javi Gracia at the start of May.

Sam Allardyce is not expected to remain in charge of the club for next season, meaning Leeds will be looking for a new manager.

Who could Leeds appoint?

Football Insider previously reported that Leeds is keen on Blackburn Rovers manager Jon Dahl Tomasson, as he helped keep the Ewood Park side in with a shout of the play-offs this season while playing an attractive brand of football.

The 46-year-old has managed in Holland and Sweden before taking this job in the Championship with Blackburn last summer.

Tomasson’s style of football in Lancashire has seen Leeds’ representatives seriously impressed by his style, with the report branding him as the ‘next Bielsa’.

Who else wants to appoint him?

Such performance in the Championship is going to see him high on the agenda for other clubs who might be facing a drop from the Premier League.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Leicester City is going to be looking at replacing Dean Smith regardless of relegation or survival in the summer.

With that, they have set their sights on Tomasson and Swansea City’s Russel Martin as potential candidates.

The Foxes are two points adrift in 19th, as they look to already be planning for a potential drop to the Championship.

One thing about relegation to the Championship is that we could go down and be able to cherry-pick one of the numerous impressive managers in the division.

When looking at who could be poached, there are Tomasson, Martin, Carlos Corberan, Kieran McKenna, and then other names from abroad that could be worth exploring.

Should we go down, there is a huge opportunity for us to bounce straight back if we are shrewd with our business.
