Report: Tottenham has offer their ‘amazing’ manager a new £48k-a-week deal

The Mail claim Feyenoord are planning to offer manager Arne Slot a deal worth £2.5million a year – or £48,000 a week – in order to keep their highly-rated boss in the dugout amid reports Leeds and Tottenham want to hire him.

Slot, 44, rejected Leeds in February after the sacking of Jesse Marsch but if the club does survive – then it is likely that Leeds return with a move for the Dutchman. That is according to The Athletic, with Spurs and Palace also keen.

Report: Club to offer manager new £48k-a-week deal, to deter Leeds and Tottenham

His stock has obviously just risen. For the first time in his entire career – as a player or manager – he has won the Eredivisie. That is despite spending his entire playing, and managerial career in his home country. Long awaited.

But having done so, it is expected he will move to England. Ex-Barcelona man Ibrahim Afellay said this week that he would be a “big boy” to refuse a club like Tottenham. Feyenoord are doing everything they can to keep him in place.

Indeed, they are willing to hand Slot a massive pay rise to £48,000 a week in order to tempt him to stay. The hope is that his affinity with the club, and Champions League football – could be enough to see Slot remain in his role.

Feyenoord offers Arne Slot a new deal amid Leeds and Tottenham reports

It is a big move from Feyenoord. Given their finances, to splash what is a big figure to them could prove tempting for Slot. He would be on a Premier League manager’s wage – the bottom half – but in the Champions League next term.

But, it might not be enough. Slot – described as “amazing” by Michel Vorm – will know that most Premier League clubs would be willing to outbid Feyenoord. Spurs can double that figure and if Leeds stays up, more than £48,000.

The club could make a fresh attempt to sign a Tottenham youngster – Spurs had previously resisted the move

Salernitana is still in the mix to sign Pape Matar Sarr after failing to get the Tottenham Hotspur player in the winter market.

That’s according to Tutto Salernitana, who says the Serie A side could make another attempt to sign the 20-year-old in the summer.

The midfielder arrived at Tottenham last summer, a year after they had agreed a deal with Metz for his transfer. He had to wait until January to make his first-team debut for the Spurs.

The Senegal international’s lack of game time in 2022 convinced the Italian club to take him on a loan deal in January and this was confirmed by Salernitana sporting director Morgan De Sanctis.

Tutto Salernitana state the Serie A side wasn’t able to sign the player in the last window because the North London club refused to let him leave. He’s featured 13 times for Spurs this year and has still ‘remained in the sights’ of Salernitana.

It’s stated Salernitana is set to face tough competition to sign Sarr in the summer but it won’t put them making a fresh attempt to secure his services.
