Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are now being linked with Anthony Martial of Manchester United.

Football Transfers are reporting that Aston Villa are interested in signing Anthony Martial from Premier League rivals Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that Villa are considering making a loan bid for Martial and sign the United forward for next season.

The Villans are reportedly looking at a possible deal which will see the France international move to Villa Park on a season-long loan deal with the option to make it permanent thereafter.

Villa manager Unai Emery wants to sign a versatile attacker who can operate down the middle or on the wing.

And, according to the report, the former Arsenal manager fancies the £250,000-a-week (SalarySport) Martial, who is under contract at United until the summer of 2024 with the option for a further year.

Should Aston Villa bid for Manchester United forward Anthony Martial?

In our view, Aston Villa should look at someone better than Manchester United forward Anthony Martial.

Yes, Martial is a versatile attacker and he knows the Premier League, but he has not really been a big success in England.

The 27-year-old has been on the books of the Red Devils since 2015 and has not really fulfilled the potential that he showed when he was at AS Monaco.

Martial has been used as a centre-forward by United manager Erik ten Hag this season, and he has not really delivered.

The forward has made 10 starts and nine substitute appearances in the Premier League for United this campaign.

The United no. 9 has scored five goals and given two assists in those games.
