Jerry Yates: Blackpool striker signs new three-year deal - BBC Sport

Coventry City are claimed to be one of five clubs keen on Blackpool striker Jerry Yates.

That’s according to The Sun who reckon the 26-year-old will be a wanted man this summer following the Tangerines relegation back to League One.

Blackpool endured a difficult campaign, which saw them part company with two managers en route to a 23rd place finish and a return to the third tier after just a couple of seasons.

However, Yates was once again a bright spot with his 15 goals, 14 in the league, confirming him as his team’s key player.

Those exploits took his tally for 46 goals in three campaigns at Bloomfield Road and are said to have caught the eye of the Sky Blues. However, play-off final opponents Luton, West Brom, Bristol City and newly-promoted Ipswich Town are also reported as being keen.

The piece claims Blackpool want £4million for the former Rotherham and Swindon centre forward, with Yates still under contract for next season and with the option existing for the 2024/2024 campaign too.

The Sky Blues, who could be playing Premier League football next season, are ploughing on despite the speculation surrounding the future of talisman Viktor Gyokeres. They also have Matty Godden as an option up front.
