Amadou Onana has dropped another hint that he could leave Everton this summer as Premier League transfer interest continues to swirl.

The Belgium international was one of the better performers this season and started in the 1-0 win over Bournemouth that sealed the club’s Premier League fate for next season.

Everton

Reports have suggested that the club could be forced to cash in on the 21-year-old though because of their financial issues, and Onana took to Instagram (30 May) to thank fans for their support this season before dropping a big hint he could be on his way out.

“Whatever it took it was worth it,” he wrote.

“Staying in the Premier League should be normal for a club this size. I want to thank you all because it’s been a very difficult season for us.

“Despite that, we all stuck together and you kept pushing us. If in the end, we made it, it’s because of your massive support throughout the season, at home but also away. So, therefore, Toffees Army, thank you.

He then followed the caption up with several hashtags, including one that said: “I’m Out”.

Nightmare

Everton has been a poor team in the transfer window in recent years, with the odd exception when it comes to incoming signings.

Onana is one of those exceptions, with fantastic performances all season justifying the big transfer fee that it took to bring him in, to begin with.

It’s no surprise that there is interest in his services from some top sides, but if Everton wants to avoid another relegation battle next season then they need to find a way to strengthen the playing squad not weaken it.

But while some say that he wants to stay, it may not be up to him and if we get an offer that brings a profit just 12 months after signing him then the club may have no choice but to accept it.

It seems that he knows that and after his last post on the day of the game that claimed Sunday was going to be the last dance, it feels like he’s trying to tell us something.
