Pukki will be unable to complete the move until the league’s summer transfer window opens on July 5, meaning he’ll be a free agent for four days after his contract at Carrow Road comes to an end.

Pukki reclaims top spot in FPL

The Pioneer Press has suggested he’ll fly to Minnesota to finalize the formalities of the deal after he’s played in Finland’s upcoming Euro qualifiers, with the Huuhkajat due to play Slovenia next Friday and San Marino the following Monday.

The 33-year-old could then make his debut for the Loons as soon as June 8’s meeting with Austin, although the report notes they’ll be short in striking areas for three games before then.

Pukki confirmed that he’d be leaving the Canaries in April, before playing his last game for the Norfolk side on May 8, in a 1-0 defeat to Blackpool.

He made 210 appearances in total for Norwich, scoring 88 goals and claiming two Player of the Season awards as well as Championship titles in 2019 and 2021.

Speaking about his future after that Tangerines loss, he said: “We will see what will happen. I’ll see what offers come in the summer then I will decide but I’m open to a lot of things.

“If there is a Premier League club who wants me then that could be an option but we will see.

“There’s always been talks and offers, but there is nothing that I would sign right now. I don’t know where I’m going to end up next season.

“We will see what happens. I need a break from football and I will probably not answer to my agent for a couple of weeks. If he calls about other stuff than football then I will be interested but not football stuff.”
