More details of Leicester City’s home shirt for the 2023/24 Championship season have been leaked, with confusion over the sponsor.

The City squad wore the new shirt kit for the first time during the final Premier League match of the season against West Ham United. That time saw the shirt donned by the usual FBS sponsor after a three-year deal was agreed upon back in 2021.

However, images appearing on footy headlines – via Japanese football store SSKamo – show the shirt without a sponsor, with the website saying that the deal with FBS is “certainly finished”. It comes amid some talk that relegation to the Championship would impact on the deal.

It means City may therefore not have a sponsored shirt for the 2023/24 season, which is reportedly the reason for the delay in the official release of the kit. Whether the club would be able to sort out another deal or return to having the King Power sponsor on the shirt remains to be seen.

Images also show details that were not immediately apparent as the players wore the shirt on the final day. As well as a lack of a sponsor, the images show a design that includes subtle lines and images of a fox head throughout the front and the sleeves of the shirt.

As with previous years, there is also a fox head printed on the back of the collar of the shirt, making the kit more unique to City than other designs by Adidas this season. The website adds that the new design will officially be launched by the club next month when it will be available to purchase.
