According to a story covered by El Pais today (news image provided below) Kim initially agreed to join Man Utd. However, he has put that decision on hold for the time being.

The Spanish media outlet has mentioned that Newcastle United has offered the biggest deal, worth 14 million euros a season i.e. £230,000-a-week, to get the Asian star from Napoli.

On the other hand, German champions, Bayern Munich have put a five-year contract on the table that will make the 26-year-old earn 12 million euros a season, around £ 198,000 a week.

El Pais claim, for now, Kim, who has a release clause of £39m (45 million euros), is tempted to sign for the Bavarians.

If not for the release clause, Kim Min-Jae would have been worth around 100 million euros. Praising the defender, Luciano Spalletti, who left Napoli after winning the title, stated:

“In games, he does 20 incredible things, he is the strongest central defender in the world. You give him an instruction, he encodes it, and then he goes to war.”

Chelsea and Manchester City have also been interested in signing the defender from the Italian champions but they do not want to pay the salary the rest are offering.
