The latest Leicester City news is first team coaches Adam Sadler, Mike Stowell, and Lars Knudsen have all left the club as it embarks on a new chapter under Enzo Maresca

Leicester City has announced the departure of coaches Adam Sadler, Mike Stowell, and Lars Knudsen as Enzo Maresca shapes his backroom staff at the club.

Both Sadler and Stowell have been at the club for a number of years, with the former initially joining in 2014. He was promoted to first-team coach in 2018, where he worked alongside Claude Puel, Brendan Rodgers and Dean Smith.

Stowell, meanwhile, has been with the club even longer. The former Wolves goalkeeper has been the goalkeeper coach since 2005 and has had six stints as caretaker boss, including two alongside Sadler.

The latest stint saw the duo take charge of two games before Smith was appointed as interim coach last season. City fell to home losses against Aston Villa and Bournemouth in the two matches.

Set-piece coach Knudsen hasn’t been with the club so long, having joined last summer. He came in under Brendan Rodgers in order to try and fix City’s long-standing problem in both conceding and scoring set-pieces.

City confirmed the exits in a club statement on Friday evening writing in an official statement: “The trio bid farewell to the Foxes with the best wishes of everyone at Leicester City, with Mike and Adam, in particular, leaving significant imprints on the Club’s recent history during periods of considerable success.”

They added: “Leicester City extends its heartfelt gratitude to all three coaches for their invaluable commitment and contributions during their time with the Club, and in particular to Mike and Adam, whose dedication and devotion during a combined 27 years of service to Leicester City is has earned them the respect and friendship of colleagues past and present throughout the Club.

“They have been integral parts of some of the most extraordinary moments in our history, which leave an indelible mark in the memories of all Leicester City supporters. As they embark on new chapters in their careers, we wish them every success in their future endeavors and look forward to welcoming them back to King Power Stadium as guests, opponents, and friends in the years to come.”
