The latest Leicester City transfer news as the young midfielder was said to be attracting interest from City and Everton

Paris Saint-Germain youngster Ayman Kari has reportedly rejoined FC Lorient on loan after being ‘spotted’ in pre-season training with the French club.

Leicester City, along with Everton were said to have contacted PSG over a possible summer deal for the deep-lying playmaker. But Lorient was also keen to renew a loan deal after the 18-year-old impressed after joining the club in January.

According to RMC Sport, who first reported City’s interest, the teenager has ‘signed’ another loan deal with Lorient with an option to buy included in the agreement. The report adds that Kari was in training with the club on Thursday morning, with the player being ‘spotted’ in a video released by the club as they prepare for the new season.

The clause inserted into the loan deal is said to be worth €5 million should the Ligue 1 side wish to trigger it to make the deal permanent. Kari played five Ligue 1 games for the French side during his first loan spell.

City have added to their midfield options since their interest in Kari was first reported. The permanent signing of Harry Winks, who joined from Tottenham in a deal worth up to £10 million was confirmed on Saturday.

Winks has signed a three-year contract at the King Power Stadium and brings Premier League and Champions League experience to the club. He was joined on the same day by defender Conor Coady who became the second arrival in Enzo Maresca’a summer rebuild.

City have also been linked with an interest in Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney. Departures of Youri Tielemans and Papy Mendy on free transfers, as well as uncertainty over Boubakary Soumare and Wilfred Ndidi, means that more midfielders could be targeted.
