According to reports, Juventus is battling Nottingham Forest for the signing of a 19-year-old player.

Juventus are set to rival Nottingham Forest for the signing of Konstantinos Mavropanos. The center-back is a wanted man this summer, with the Reds keen to land the man who used to play for Arsenal.

According to Sports Media Set, the Old Lady are the latest club to emerge as an interested party in the race for Mavropanos. The Greek central defender looks almost certain to leave Stuttgart during the transfer window.

Forest has monitored the player for some time. He was linked with a move to the City Ground back in January and it would appear that Steve Cooper is keen to add him to his defensive ranks.

The Reds will hope to improve at the back during 2023/24. They conceded far too many goals last season; although with Felipe and Moussa Niakhate playing together towards the end of the campaign, they did look a lot more solid.

Mavropanos has gone over to the Bundesliga and really kicked his career on. He was stagnating at Arsenal and made just eight appearances for the Gunners, despite Arsene Wenger praising him in 2018.

The youngster failed to break into the senior ranks on a consistent basis during his time at the Emirates Stadium. Ian Wright also praised him after his debut against Manchester United, calling the player ‘fearless’ for his efforts.

Juventus rival Forest for Mavropanos signing

The center-back only made a permanent move to Stuttgart last season. Already it appears that they will be about to make some profit on the player they signed from Arsenal last summer.

Forest is desperately keen to bolster their rearguard. They want to shore up at the back this season and someone like Mavropanos could be an ideal signing for the Reds to make.

Now, with Juventus keen it does provide a bit of a concern. The Turin giants will be an attractive proposition for Mavropanos and Forest might need to move quickly on this one.

The 25-year-old has made 89 appearances for Stuttgart and that experience should put him in good stead. He’s also collected 19 caps for Greece and is still improving all the time.

Forest will want their recruitment drive to ramp up in the coming weeks. They’re yet to sign a player this summer and hopefully, some positive news can come on that front very soon.
