Aston Villa favorite Ashley Young is set to complete a move to Everton on a free transfer.

The full-back is set to undergo a medical today with boss Sean Dyche eager to add his experience to the squad.

Young was released by Villa at the end of the season and had attracted interest from Premier League new boys Luton Town.

But Everton is set to wrap up his signing and he has reportedly agreed on a one-year deal to continue his top-flight career.

An option to extend it by a further year is likely to be included in the deal.

Young made 57 appearances over the last two seasons for Villa. It was his second spell at the club after playing 190 games between 2007 and 2011.

Should the formalities of the switch be completed today, he could be unveiled today.
