Jordan Davies: Wrexham midfielder suffers lengthy injury blow

Wrexham expects to be without midfielder Jordan Davies for up to three months due to a knee injury.

Davies suffered medial ligament damage late in the first half of Wrexham’s 4-1 win over Farnborough in the FA Cup last Saturday.

The 24-year-old has scored three goals in 18 games this season for Wrexham, who are currently top of the National League.

“Gutted to pick up the injury on the weekend,” Davies tweeted.

“Will be working hard to be back as soon as possible.”

Davies has been a key player for Wrexham since he rejoined his hometown club following his release from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2020.

Powell was rumored to be on Wrexham’s wishlist but the 29-year-old has opted to join League Two rivals Stockport on a three-year deal.

County have seen off interest from several other clubs to secure the services of Powell who spent four years at Stoke, where he made more than 100 appearances in the Championship, scoring 27 goals.

Powell made his mark at Crewe Alexandra after he was handed his debut for the Gresty Road outfit at the age of 16 in 2010, becoming the second youngest player in the club’s history at the time.
