David Moyes shares Declan Rice exit admission at West Ham United after what he heard on Sky Sports

West Ham United manager David Moyes has shared a Declan Rice exit admission after what he heard on Sky Sports.

The Hammers boss explained that the club cannot plan anything in terms of new players until Rice’s exit is confirmed.

The midfielder is closing in on a £120million plus add-ons move to Premier League rivals Arsenal, as per Florian Plettenberg (14 July).

“I’ve just been listening to Sky and taking the news from Sky – you seem to know more about it than me and getting the news quicker than I’m getting!” said Moyes, as quoted by Sky Sports.

“Until it’s done, we can’t plan anything really. We will wait to see what happens. Everyone knows the situation, we are waiting for something to happen.

“I don’t think we can replace Declan exactly like for like. But we will add to the squad as times go on. We won’t give you any names or what we’re going to do.”

It has been a long, drawn-out saga, but Rice’s move to Arsenal finally looks set to be completed, for what will be a British-record fee of £120million.

Plenty of clubs were understandably interested in the England international’s services, but it seems that the Gunners have won the race for his signature, with Mikel Arteta finally getting his main man.

As for West Ham boss Moyes, he will want to find an ideal Rice replacement as soon as possible, but that looks set to be a very difficult task.

The Hammers are losing a leader both on and off the pitch, as well, of course, as a very talented player.

The one major positive here is that they are about to receive a huge fee for the England ace, with that money able to be put to good use, not only on his successor but also on a few more signings elsewhere.

In other West Ham news, Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has sent outgoing Hammers ace Rice a seven-word message.
