Nottingham Forest have signed a 34-year-old former Brazil international winger.

Willian: Nottingham Forest set to sign Brazilian winger

Brazilian winger Willian is having a medical before a potential move to Nottingham Forest.

The 34-year-old former Brazil international made 30 appearances for Fulham last season.

He is set to become Forest’s first summer signing after striker Chris Wood’s permanent arrival from Newcastle was confirmed in February.

Forest made 30 new signings last summer following their promotion to the Premier League.

Willian joined the Cottagers on a free transfer after leaving Corinthians in August 2022.

The former Chelsea and Arsenal winger had been offered a new deal to extend his stay with Fulham.

He scored five goals and made six assists as he started 25 Premier League games for the West London club.

Forest begin the new season against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium on 12 August.

Tyler Walker Returns – Reaction

The Imps yesterday announced the return of former Nottingham Forest, Mansfield Town, Coventry City, and Tyler Walker. striker Tyler Walker.

Following the announcement of this news, I asked members of Vital Lincoln City for their views. The views of hulloutpost can be found below, and the views of Huntsward can be found HERE.

You can discuss what has been said in this article HERE, as well as many other topics on our 100% Imps forum!

The latest piece of the Mark Kennedy summer rebuilding jigsaw has just been unveiled. This time it is the arrival of the much anticipated second striker to add some welcome support to the incredibly hard-working Ben House.

By signing a two-year contract the 26-year-old has returned to his old stamping ground at the LNER where only a few short years ago he was competing neck and neck with Ivan Toney in the League One goal-scoring charts before that particular race was cut rudely short when parent club Nottingham Forest abruptly recalled him from his loan to the Imps during the January window. Since then Toney has gone onto big things in the Premiership and flirted with the England squad. Meanwhile, Tyler endured a torrid loan spell at Portsmouth whilst struggling to hold down a first-team spot at Championship club Coventry City. In spite of that and having to deal with several injuries, he still managed to return goals at a rate of one every three games for the Midlands club (going by minutes, as observed by well-known Imps statistician Scotimp).

So what do the Imps fans get in Tyler Walker? Well, they already know. Here is a striker with pace who will run off the shoulder and away from the ball and has an eye for goal. Ben House in particular will benefit from having a genuine forward in the building who should be seen as not a rival, rather somebody that complements and contrasts with Ben’s ability to close down relentlessly, drop deeper and play with strength and creativity. Not only will Tyler reduce the risk of burn out for the ever-willing Ben, but adding Walker to the pool opens up a whole host of alternative formations and options for Mark Kennedy to exploit, given any game situation or style of opponent.

The signing of Walker also makes for several interesting observations. Here is another player signed on a permanent contract, this time in that tricky-to-fill forward role. Tyler is no young Premier League kid looking to get a few minutes on loan; the Imps have bagged an experienced player who at 26 should have his prime to look forward to, at a level he knows and has done well at previously.

So accounting for all the positives, can Tyler guarantee to be a success? Well no, there are scant certainties in life. However, he will know that the return to Lincoln will be walking through an open door. His previous playing record and popularity with the fans can only help the player settle in and give him the confidence to rebuild his career, doubtless with a fire in his belly to showcase his undoubted ability.

Good to see you back home Tyler, you are most welcome.
