Tottenham about to pay for 26-goal striker as Kane replacement

With the prospect of Harry Kane leaving Tottenham this summer, it’s only natural that Spurs would be looking at potential replacements, such as Jonathan David, as per Friday’s edition of L’Equipe.

The striker has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich, who appear rather desperate to sign the England international, although they still have to overcome the Daniel Levy hurdle.

Tottenham would rather not lose Kane, but if they were to, you would think the prospect of getting a lot of money for him would be the preferable route, which would then give the Premier League side more leeway to find an adequate successor.

Whether Jonathan David is that man remains to be seen, but the aforementioned French newspaper believes he is one of the candidates.

Looking at the Canada international’s future, they reveal that Lille have ‘set their price’ for the star striker at €60m.

The hope was for someone to come in with that amount, but the striker merry-go-round has yet to start, with Kane seemingly holding everybody up.

Either way, Tottenham are ‘observing’ David in case they have to sell their striker, but there is a lot of competition, with Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and even Newcastle all also keen on a player who scored 26 goals in 40 appearances last season for the Ligue 1 club.

Football Insider has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur is now growing in confidence that they can lure Gleison Bremer away from Juventus.

It is explained that Financial Fair Play concerns are now mounting at Juventus, which could open the door for some first-team regulars, including Bremer, to depart.

Spurs are growing in confidence over Bremer

The report states that while Juventus do not wish to lose the Brazilian, they could be forced to listen to offers for him in order to balance their books.

It is alleged that the Old Lady could be tempted to recoup the £43m they paid to sign the center-back from Torino last summer.

Football Insider claim that Bremer ranks high on Ange Postecoglou’s wishlist, with the Juve star seen as someone who ticks a lot of boxes for the Australian.

The outlet adds that the Brazil international has been a long-term target for Spurs, with the club allegedly trying to sign from Torino last summer prior to his switch to the Allianz Stadium.

Spurs Web Opinion

Juventus have many sellable assets in their squad apart from Bremer, which is why I would be surprised if the Serie A giants consider any offer below the £55m-£60m mark for Bremer. Tottenham could arguably find better options for that price range such as Marc Guehi.
