TRANSFER: Coventry City sign Joel Latibeaudiere

The defender arrives in Coventry after bringing an end to his time with Swansea City…

Coventry City are delighted to confirm the signing of defender Joel Latibeaudiere.

The central defender has signed a four-year contract with the Sky Blues, following a compensation package being agreed with Swansea City for the 23-year-old.

Jamaican international Latibeaudiere started his career at Manchester City, captaining City’s under-18s to the Premier League North title and also being part of the side that reached the FA Youth Cup final. While with the Citizens, he also had a five-game loan spell at FC Twente where he would also score his first professional goal.

In October 2020, Latibeaudiere moved to Swansea City. In a three-season spell in South Wales he played a total of 79 games, scoring on three occasions.

Doncaster-born and of Jamaican descent, Joel was a member of the England Under 17 side that finished runners-up in the 2017 UEFA European Championships and then lifted the 2017 Under 17s FIFA World Cup, playing the full game as England beat Spain.

He would play for England up to Under 20 level before going on to represent Jamaica and has currently got 6 caps, with his most recent appearances coming in the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
