sad news: Everton has lost the race in signing Bayer Leverkusen world-class striker

Winner named in Everton and Bayer Leverkusen race to sign USG striker Victor Boniface

Everton has lost the race to Bayer Leverkusen to secure the services of USG striker Victor Boniface this summer, according to All Nigeria Soccer.

The African media outlet claims [21 July] that he will be signing a four or five-year contract at the Bundesliga club.

The 22-year-old Nigerian striker has agreed on personal terms with Leverkusen but the final details still need sorting out.

Move on

Boniface looks like he wants to join Bayer Leverkusen so it’s no point trying to fight a losing battle.

They can offer him better prospects when it comes to playing in Europe and perhaps at this stage in his career, it’s just what he wants.

He bagged 22 goals and 12 assists last season and there’s no denying that he would’ve been a priceless asset to Sean Dyche’s side.

He could’ve been the potent goal threat that he’s looking for but it seems like they now have to look at options elsewhere.

It is imperative they bring in a new striker as they failed to do that in the January window and it nearly cost them.

Money is a bit of an issue but this is one position they have to do whatever they can to bring in the right player.

In other Everton news, an exit-linked Toffees player has recently been spotted in talks with a senior Goodison Park figure ahead of the new season.
