Leeds United is hopeful of sealing a deal for a goalkeeper in the next few days

Leeds United are hopeful of sealing a deal to bring a new goalkeeper to the club, with Daniel Farke looking to strengthen his squad, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Yorkshire Evening Post shared via their website on 24 July that a deal could be done in the next few days, with the club anticipating the exit of current first-choice ‘keeper Illan Meslier following their relegation to the Championship.

Leeds has been linked to a number of goalkeeping options this summer, including Bayern Munich’s Alexander Nubel, Newcastle’s Karl Darlow, and Norwich City’s Angus Gunn, although the former looks set for a move elsewhere this summer.

Leeds making strides forwards

Leeds is taking steps forward in the transfer market after a slow start, having already sealed a deal to bring Ethan Ampadu to the club, with a new player expected through the door in the coming days, the club is finally making positive moves.

Newcastle United - Darlow joins Hull City on loan

The new player is as of yet unnamed, but seems most likely to be Newcastle goalkeeper Darlow, as Nubel looks set to snub Leeds’ interest to join Stuttgart, while links to Gunn have dried up.

It was shared on 22 July that Leeds had edged ahead of Bournemouth in the pursuit of Darlow, with a move to Yorkshire more appealing due to the player’s family being settled in the North of England, and more than likely a starting place in the team.

There has been somewhat of an exodus at Leeds this summer, and the club still expects more players to depart, but getting the wheels in motion with incoming signings ahead of the new season will ease fans’ concerns.
