‘HE IS SO SPECIAL’: DANNY ROSE TELLS POSTECOGLOU TO USE 26-YEAR-OLD TOTTENHAM MIDFIELDER

Danny Rose has raved about Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

The former Tottenham Hotspur left-back has said on talkSPORT (6:14pm, July 27, 2023) that Tanguy Ndombele is a special player.

Rose has said that he hopes that new Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou gives the 26-year-old Frenchman a chance in the first team.

Ndombele is back at Tottenham after spending last season on loan at Napoli in Italy.

The Frenchman made eight starts and 22 substitute appearances in Serie A for Napoli during his loan spell last season.

The 26-year-old scored one goal in those games.

Ndombele also made three starts and six substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League for the Naples outfit.

The midfielder scored one goal and gave one assist in those games.

Ndombele helped Napoli win Serie A last season.

Rose said: “I only got to have six months with Ndombele. He is so special. I hope he is given a chance. He would be like a new signing for Spurs in there.”

Give Tanguy Ndombele another chance at Tottenham Hotspur

In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou should give Tanguy Ndombele a chance.

Yes, things have not worked out for the Frenchman at Spurs, but we know that he is a very dynamic player who can drive the team forward and hold his own in the middle of the park.

Ndombele has huge potential.

The problem has been that the Frenchman has not been very consistent at Spurs.

Although his loan spell at Napoli was not particularly great on a personal level, Ndombele is only 26 now.

Perhaps under Postecoglou, the former Lyon star could flourish and get back to his best.

Ndombele has made 63 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The midfielder has scored six goals and given five assists in those matches.

‘EXPECTED TO STAY’: £225,000-A-WEEK MIDFIELDER WILL NOT LEAVE LIVERPOOL NOW

David Ornstein has said that Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara will not leave Jurgen Klopp’s side in the summer transfer window.

The Athletic journalist has reported on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel that Thiago Alcantara is now expected to stay at Liverpool.

Sport reported last week Thiago “seriously” thinks that leaving Liverpool this summer would be best for his career.

The £225,000-a-week (SalarySport) midfielder has had injury problems during his time at Liverpool, who have already signed two new midfielders, Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister, in the summer transfer window.

Sport also reported that Thiago dreams of going back to Barcelona, adding that the 32-year-old Spanish midfielder has clubs in Saudi Arabia, Spain and Turkey interested in him.

However, based on Ornstein’s comments, it seems that the midfielder will now stay.

Ornstein said: “Maybe some thought it would have been Thiago Alcantara, but he is expected to stay at the club.”

Liverpool should consider offloading Thiago Alcantara

In our opinion, if Thiago Alcantara wants to leave Liverpool, then the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners should just let him leave.

We do not think that Thiago would be a massive miss for the Reds.

Although the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich star is a very good player who is classy on the ball and can hold his own in the middle of the park, we have simply not seen the best of him in a Liverpool shirt.

And we do not think that Thiago is going to be able to turn on the style for Liverpool.

He is 32 now and injury problems have really affected him at Liverpool.

Thiago has been able to make only 67 appearances in the Premier League during his time at Liverpool so far.

The Spanish midfielder has scored two goals and given four assists in those games.
