The latest Premier League transfer news as a Wolves defender closes in on a shock move following interest from Manchester City and Juventus.
Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back Rayan Aït-Nouri has reportedly agreed personal terms with OGC Nice ahead of a permanent transfer to Ligue 1.
The Algeria international, who has made 78 appearances across all competitions for Wolves since signing in 2020, looks set for a return to the French top flight.
This is despite plenty of hope among the Molineux faithful that the 22-year-old would eventually fulfill his sky-high potential, especially following Ryan Giles’ departure.
But French outlet Sports Zone reports Aït-Nouri is just one step away from leaving Molineux for Allianz Riviera following an acceptance of personal terms.
It’s claimed Nice is now working hard to meet Wanderers’ expectations when it comes to a fee, and then the medical and formalities will be completed in due course.
This isn’t the first time Aït-Nouri has been linked with a potential move away as speculation grew in January, with Manchester City and Juventus said to be potential suitors.
In December, The Athletic claimed Aït-Nouri was a surprise option being looked at by the Citizens, whereas Italian publication Calciomercatoweb reported the Old Lady held an interest.
Still well ahead of his prime, Aït-Nouri has played 65 times for Wolves in the Premier League, scoring three goals and contributing five assists in the process.
Although Wanderers’ asking price is unclear, it will likely be close to his €22 million (£18.8 million) market value, as per Transfermarkt. Aït-Nouri’s contract expires in June 2026.
