Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling, Sam Lammers, Jack Butland, Abdallah Sima, Cyriel Dessers, Leon Balogun and now Danilo have changed the look of the boss’ side, with Jose Cifuentes likely to arrive this summer too. There’s been plenty of outgoing too and Scott Wright plus Glen Kamara may still add to that list, as fans got a look at their team being put through their paces in an open training session at Ibrox.
Familiar faces like James Tavernier were present as the squad gears up for competitive action beginning this Saturday evening away at Kilmarnock. The cameras were on during the session and here are nine things we spotted during Rangers training prior to their Premiership campaign beginning in Ayrshire.

Injury step-up
Goldson has been a mainstay at the back for Rangers ever since his arrival in 2018 so Rangers will have all fingers crossed that he is back ASAP with key matches looming. And fans got to see him back on the Ibrox turf in another boost for the Englishman on comeback road with the defender hoping to prove his fitness for the season opener.

Clive Tyldesley has become a popular figure within the Ibrox fanbase since taking on some club TV duties. He was again in the fold as the legendary commentator turned compere for the open session in Govan.

Making a song and dance of it
It was more than just rondos and 11 vs 11’s too. Rangers brought out performers to entertain the gathered crowd too, and you could wager that the players probably haven’t had a mini-concert before training either.

If anyone knows what it takes to succeed at Rangers, it’s Richard Gough. And the former captain watched over the session today as Beale and Co look to deliver silverware to Ibrox as the Englishman did in his playing days. -

Zero, zilch, nada. We don’t know how to explain what is going on here so let’s not even bother. But at least it seems like Dujon Sterling is settling in with his new teammates well… maybe -
New man for big moments
Perhaps a star attraction for those in attendance. Rangers have gone big to get Danilo in from Feyenoord and they will want to be paid back in the form of goals and big moments. A debut may beckon in Kilmarnock but it’s games like the Champions League qualifier with Genk or Servette where he will be heavily judged. -
On the prowl
One man who’ll hope to help Danilo on the goal trail is Kemar Roofe. The Jamaican international is keen to put a nightmare season of injury woe behind him and start finding the net again like he did during Beale’s stint as assistant to Steven Gerrard. A set of group instructions are delivered to the squad preparing for their season to begin. Few slip-ups can be afforded this term and Beale will be hammering home the message of creating a winning mentality fast. -
Leading role
He’s vowed to give it his all and amid plenty of players looking to prove their Ibrox worth, one of Beale’s signings already has. Cantwell has endeared himself to fans since his January arrival from Norwich City and will be a key man in the fight to win the title.
