West Brom ace Daryl Dike sends two-word message after confirmed new Sheffield United transfer
West Brom striker Daryl Dike has sent a two-word message to Auston Trusty after the latter signed for Sheffield United.
As per the official Sheffield United website (3 August), the defender has joined the club on a four-year deal from Arsenal.
And among those to congratulate the 24-year-old on the move was his United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) teammate Dike.
Sharing his delight at the move, Trusty posted on Instagram: “Honoured to be joining Sheffield United. Excited to start this new chapter at such a historic club. Can’t wait to get started!! Let’s go!!”
And his USMNT teammate Dike commented: “LET’S GOOOOO.”
Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom has been busy in the summer transfer window since the club’s promotion from the Championship.
Trusty represents the club’s fourth signing as they look to establish themselves in the Premier League next season.
Given the quality of the competition and the step up from the second division, that will be a very difficult task, but signings like USA defender Trusty should help.
The defender certainly wasn’t given much of a chance at Arsenal since arriving from Colorado Rapids last year, but the player quickly established himself in England with a superb loan spell at Birmingham City last season.
Top displays earned him the club’s Player of the Year Award, which has now led him to a fresh challenge in the Premier League with the Blades.
His compatriot Dike will no doubt be watching on to see how the defender gets on at his new club, with the West Brom man currently sidelined with an Achilles tendon injury.
In other West Brom news, one Albion player has revealed that he spent time in hospital for surgery during the Baggies’ off-season.
