Pep Guardiola solve big Man City issue by signing ‘awesome’ 21-year-old wizard

Pep Guardiola could find the solution to a potential problem at Manchester City by securing a transfer deal for Florian Wirtz.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Barcelona are preparing to make a move to sign Bernardo Silva, who they were looking at last summer as well.

Should the midfielder end up leaving the Manchester club this summer, this could leave Guardiola with a big issue to fix.

Not only because Silva has been a prominent figure in the City team having featured in all but six of their matches last season, but also because he is such a versatile player that he can be deployed in numerous positions across the pitch.

However, if the 28-year-old were to leave, we feel that a suitable solution would be to land a transfer deal for Wirtz, who has recently been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium.

Wirtz could solve a potential Silva issue

In 103 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen, the 20-year-old has scored 23 goals and delivered 30 assists along the way, highlighting how capable he is of scoring and setting up goals for his teammates.

This puts him in a similar light to Silva, who also has a knack for scoring and supplying goals, having found the net 55 times and delivered 59 assists in 306 appearances.

Then, with the German featuring in numerous attacking positions as well as his usual attacking-midfield role, this versatility mirrors Silva’s.

Described as an “awesome” player by Lukas Hradecky, Wirtz still managed to end the previous Bundesliga campaign with a higher overall performance rating (7.14/10) than any other Leverkusen player despite missing a lot of the season through injury.

With all of that in mind, we feel that should City’s Portuguese star decide to call time on his spell at the Etihad, the treble winners should do all they can to get their hands on the German wizard.
