Report: Tottenham tell 25-year-old to find a new club this summer

Joe Rodon has been told he should find a new club and leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

New Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is keen to sign at least one new centre-back this summer (90 Min) and the Australian is also planning a big clearout of his squad, too (Telegraph).

Journalist Paul Gilmour has told the Last Word on Spurs podcast that Joe Rodon would be ‘vulnerable’ and could leave Spurs this year.

After spending last year on loan at French side Rennes, Rodon has returned to North London for pre-season. However, he has struggled to force his way into Postecoglou’s plans and has apparently been ‘frozen out’ by the coach (Football.London).

Rodon is now widely believed to be one of the players leaving the club (Evening Standard) having failed to establish himself at Spurs in the three years since he joined the Lilywhites.

According to the latest from the Evening Standard, Rodon has now been told by Spurs that he is free to move on and should start looking for a new club.

The report mentions how Tottenham are still trying to “offload” existing defenders from their squad, with Davinson Sanchez and Rodon cited as the two players who the club are keen to move on.

It is thought both have been “told they can find a new club” this summer. It is not yet known which clubs, if any, will come in for Rodon, but it appears he has reached the end of the road at Spurs.

There is no doubt that Joe Rodon has little chance of a future at Tottenham now, and it would be in the interest of all parties if he moved on this summer.
