medical done: Everton has signed a 20-year-old striker

Everton agree personal terms with Youssef Chermiti

Everton has managed to agree on personal terms with 19-year-old Sporting CP striker Youssef Chermiti ahead of a potential transfer.

According to a report by Football Insider, Everton have been pushing hard for the signatures of Youssef Chermiti for a while now and they have finally managed to reach an agreement on personal terms with the player.

The Liverpool-based club’s priority heading into the transfer window was to sign a new number nine. And, they have been in talks with multiple forwards throughout the summer. Everton was pushing for the services of El Bilal Toure and Viktor Gyokeres. But, they couldn’t manage to strike a deal for either of them.

As a result, they shifted their focus towards Portuguese youth international Chermiti. The 19-year-old has gone from strength to strength over the past 12 months. On the back of his impressive performances, he was promoted to their first team in the winter of 2023.

Last season he featured in a total of 22 matches for the Portuguese club’s first team. The teenage sensation started ten of those matches and was involved in a total of five goals. His performances haven’t gone unnoticed and there is a lot of interest in his services.

Chermiti’s contract with Sporting runs until the summer of 2027 but he is all set to join Everton in the ongoing window. The 19-year-old has agreed on personal terms with Everton who already have an agreement in place with the Portuguese club.

With all parties reaching an agreement over a transfer, the move is expected to be completed in the coming days. The teenage sensation is expected to complete his medical within the next 48 hours. He is all set to be Everton’s third signing of the summer. They have already signed Ashley Young and Arnaut Danjuma in the ongoing transfer window.

While Everton are closing in on his signatures, they are still looking to sign another striker. Sean Dyche is keen on having enough depth in the striker position for the 2023-24 season and that is why he wants to add another striker along with the Portuguese youth international.
