Huddersfield sign Pritchard from Norwich

Former Tottenham Hotspur winger is Town’s second January signing

Huddersfield Town have announced the signing of Alex Pritchard from Norwich City.

The 24-year-old winger has agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal to join the Terriers for an undisclosed fee.

Pritchard is their second January signing, following the loan of Monaco’s Terence Kongolo until the end of the season.

“He is exactly the type of player that we like to work with at this Club,” head coach David Wagner told the club’s official website.

“Alex is a young, British player who arrives as one of the top performers in the Sky Bet Championship and with a desire to prove himself in the Premier League.”

Karim Matmour: Huddersfield Town sign Algeria international

Huddersfield Town have signed Algeria international Karim Matmour on a contract to the end of the season, with an option for a further 12 months.

The 30-year-old midfielder, who was born in France, was a free agent after a spell with Kuwaiti club Al-Arabi.

Matmour has spent most of his career in Germany, where he came to the attention of Huddersfield boss David Wagner.

The Terriers have received international clearance and he could make his debut at Brighton on Saturday.

“It is not normal that we would be able to get a player of his quality with no transfer fee,” Wagner told the club website.

“He can play in all four attacking positions; on the right, on the left, as a number 10 or number nine.

“This strengthens our forwards and will help me make good decisions to keep them fresh.”

Matmour played for four clubs in Germany and appeared in the Bundesliga for Borussia Moenchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt.
