Son Heung-Min worry
Tottenham’s dramatic 2-1 against Marseille was marred by an injury to Son Heung-Min. The attacker had to be replaced midway through the first half due to a head injury sustained in a collision with Chancel Mbemba, who would go on to give the home side a dramatic lead.
Son’s face was heavily swollen as he walked off the field to be replaced by Emerson Royal and presented a worry for Antonio Conte, who had to watch the game from the stands.
The South Korean is one of the Italian’s most important players and was the joint top scorer in the Premier League last season with 23. With Liverpool on the horizon, his injury will be a major concern.
Spurs did come back to equalise in the second half after Clement Lenglet’s header and took the lead in injury time, meaning Son will now be able to play in the knockout stages of the tournament once more after failing to get to that stage since 2019.

Son’s injury puts his role in the weekend’s vital match against Liverpool in doubt.
The concussion rules state that a formal clinical assessment of the player has to be produced, with his recovery noted by the relevant medical staff, as well as following the FA’s protocols to return to training and then playing. If the post-match assessment clears any sign of a concussion, then the medical staff will be able to direct the next steps to return to training.
All of that information has to be submitted so that the protocols can be followed precisely and the players’ well-being is at the forefront of it. It remains to be seen if there is enough time for Son to recover and be cleared of such issues heading into the clash against Liverpool.
Having finished top of the group, Tottenham have, in theory, helped themselves avoid some of the tougher ties in the last-16 as the group of opponents they could draw is known.
With the final matches for the group stages being completed tonight, an even clearer and narrower pool of teams will be clear, but for now, Conte is aware of three clubs he could face in the knockout stages, with another seven still possibilities.
Perhaps the most interesting clash available so far would be a return to San Siro for Conte as Inter Milan finished second in their group, meanwhile, Real Madrid could yet lie ahead.
