shocking news: QPR star has been asked to leave the club

QPR striker DJ Campbell admits he may have to leave the club

DJ Campbell has confirmed he is considering his future at QPR as he enters the final year of his contract.

Blackburn leave it too late to secure Campbell before the deadline

DJ Campbell’s move from QPR to Blackburn failed to go through before the 11pm transfer deadline.

Blackburn have appealed to the Premier League and Football League, and will try again on Friday morning, but it now looks unlikely to be ratified.

Campbell had arrived in Blackburn at about 9.45pm to try and complete the move to the Championship club.

The speedy striker had also been a target of the Championship’s third placed side, Hull City, and in one of the more bizarre twists of this deadline day, the ever-eccentric Ian Holloway performed the first deadline-day dash to try and pull off a signing.

Sportsmail understood the Crystal Palace manager drove up the M1 and along the M62 to the Hull hotel DJ Campbell was staying in to try and hijack the QPR striker’s move to the KC Stadium.
