Ipswich Town signed forward Conor Chaplin from Championship play-off semi-finalists Barnsley
Ipswich Town have followed up today’s earlier acquisition of George Edmundson from Glasgow Rangers with the addition of Barnsley regular Conor Chaplin – as their summer signings hit double figures.
Like the former, forward or left-winger Chaplin is thought to have required a fee around the £ 1 million mark, though again, it is officially undisclosed.
The 24-year-old helped Barnsley to reach the Championship play-offs last season and has penned a three-year deal at Portman Road, saying the club’s ambitions match his own.
The move to Suffolk sees Chaplin link back up with manager Paul Cook, whom he worked under at Portsmouth.
