Everton have increased their offer for Southampton striker Adams to £15m

The Toffees have lost consecutive matches, failing to score so far this season

Everton have made an improved offer for Southampton striker Che Adams.

Sportsmail understands that the Toffees have made an improved bid of £15million for the Saints striker.

A deal is yet to be agreed but talks remain ongoing between the clubs following a rejected bid of £12million on Friday.

Other Premier League sides are interested in the forward including Crystal Palace and Bournemouth but Everton are advancing in negotiations.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin was forced off with an injury for Sean Dyche’s men against Aston Villa after colliding with Emi Martinez.

Speaking after the match, Dyche gave an update on Everton’s pursuit for players this summer and name dropped Adams.

He said: ‘We’ve got to look at what we’ve got and work with that,’ Dyche said when asked if he had any transfer updates after the Villa defeat.

I don’t think there’s a magic wand; there never was. There’s no shortcuts because they usually cost a lot of money. But we’re working hard to construct deals that affect us in a positive way.

‘There’s fresh reports about all sorts of things, so at the minute I’m not going to talk about something that’s mythical. I did talk about (Youssef) Chermiti because I felt that was more or less done, but these deals at the minute I’m waiting for news.

‘That’s not about Che Adams, it’s any deal.

‘We’re in for a number of situations; whether they come to fruition, I’m waiting on news.’
