Tottenham Hotspur’s left back has joined Manchester United

Manchester United is looking into a late deal to bring Tottenham Hotspur left-back Sergio Reguilon to Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag is facing some big problems at left-back.

Luke Shaw has suffered a muscle injury, which sounds vague but there aren’t many more details out there right now.

The Athletic report that Shaw could be out for around three months now, which is an enormous blow to the United back line.

Backup Tyrell Malacia didn’t feature in pre-season and is still weeks away from returning, meaning Diogo Dalot had to start at left back against Nottingham Forest.

Lisandro Martinez is another option in that position whilst Alvaro Fernandez’s potential move to Granada could be nixed by United’s need for a left-back.

Sergio Reguilon is a new option for Manchester United

United could now look to strike a late deal for a new left-back with Tottenham Hotspur misfit Sergio Reguilon thought to be a prime target.

Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas claims that United have looked into a move to bring Reguilon to Old Trafford.

The Spaniard joined Spurs for £28million back in 2020 having impressed on loan at Sevilla from Real Madrid.

Whilst Reguilon started well at Tottenham, he seemed to completely lose his confidence and wasn’t fancied under Antonio Conte.

Reguilon went back to Spain last summer as he joined Atletico Madrid on loan but started just two La Liga games.

Ange Postecoglou now has no plans for Reguilon either and the 26-year-old needs a fresh start away from North London.

United could offer that but much will depend on whether Tottenham wants to loan Reguilon out once again.
