Blackpool are one of several clubs interested in loaning Blues central defender Elkan Baggott before the transfer market ends at 11 p.m.

Kieran McKenna, the club’s manager, has been debating whether to loan out the Indonesia international or keep him in his team for the upcoming season.

The Blues look to be happy to let the 20-year-old leave, and we understand numerous League One clubs, including the Tangerines, have made queries.

Any deal, though, will almost certainly be contingent on Town bringing in a more senior centre-half before the transfer market closes at 11 p.m. tonight.

TWTD reported earlier in the window that Stevenage were interested in the centre-half, who impressed in pre-season and in the two Carabao Cup matches.

Karamoko Dembele acknowledges the obstacles of his path while outlining his goals with the Seasiders.
Karamoko Dembele is hoping to show himself during his time with Blackpool, as he aspires to play as much football as possible.

The winger, who rose to prominence with Celtic as a 13-year-old, has joined the Seasiders on a season-long loan from Brest.

Dembele credits Neil Critchley with bringing him to Bloomfield Road, and he hopes to have the opportunity to show people what he is all about at this point in his career.

“The problem is that people still judge me from when I was younger and stuff, but I’ve forgotten about that and I just want to prove myself where it matters,” he explained.

“I’d like to be able to do it in a first-team setting.”

“Because I was living alone in France, I matured as a person and as a player–I’m always learning.”

“Everyone is on their own path. Mine has been challenging because I’ve been talked about since I was a child and have never had the chance to play.

“Everything will happen when it’s supposed to happen.”

“When I first received the call from Critch (Neil Critchley), I could tell he was a nice guy, which is important to me.”

“I’m hoping he’ll give me the chance to show him what I’m capable of.”

“He was probably the driving force behind the move, because he appears to be a top manager about whom I’ve heard good things.”

Dembele is likely to make his debut for the Seasiders against Wigan Athletic this weekend.

“It’s been a long week with travel and stuff,” he explained, “but I trained yesterday and I enjoyed it, so that’s the main thing.”

“I’m just glad to be here, and I’m hoping to get some playing time because that’s what I really need.”

“In order to improve as a player, you must play on a regular basis.”

“I’m hoping that this move will allow me to bring out the best in myself.”

“I just want to enjoy football this season, and then things will fall into place.”

“When you don’t play games, you’re just doing a lot of training, which can get boring, but games are exciting, so being able to enjoy that experience would be important for me.”

“I’ve heard the fans are quite crazy, and I’m looking forward to playing in front of them.”
