A forward who has been linked with both Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday is supposedly close to joining Leicester City.
Everton’s Tom Cannon has apparently been a target all summer, with the Whites and Owls among the clubs thought to be interested in him.
He has also been connected with Stoke City and Sunderland, but according to The Athletic, he will have a medical at Leicester City.
Everton is thought to have sanctioned a permanent exit for the 20-year-old in a deal for roughly £7.5 million.
Those who saw the forward’s exploits in front of goal for Preston North End last season would not be surprised by the reported interest.
He scored eight goals in 20 appearances with the Lilywhites before his loan deal expired.
Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday both added forwards this summer, with the former bringing in Joel Piroe and the latter bringing in Ashley Fletcher.
The Owls’ striker quest may not be over, with AFC Bournemouth’s Jamal Lowe reportedly on their radar.
