Fabio Silva starred for Portugal’s under-21 team, with two goals contribution in a 3-0 victory.

The 21-year-old was outstanding as he led Portugal to a 2-0 victory over Andorra, putting them in second place in their group.

Given that they’ve only played one game compared to Andorra’s four, this is an incredible situation to be in.

Gary O’Neil would have been overjoyed to see the costly youngster tearing it up.

The question is whether he can translate this into his club form and finally make good on his large transfer fee.

Silva is blazing hot for Portugal

Silva’s career has been hit or miss, despite initially appearing to be a promising talent.

However, he was loaned out twice last season and performed well on both occasions.

This secured his place in the club’s plans for the coming season, although he remains the league’s lone forward who has yet to contribute to a goal.

His Portugal form, especially a goal and an assist in one game, will have O’Neil optimistic that the best version of Silva is about to emerge.

Is he capable of doing so for Wolves?

Silva has yet to score in the Premier League for Wolves, however he has scored in the League Cup.

Despite his lack of goals, he has been getting into positions and getting chances, just to fail to convert.

His troubles are exemplified by two big chances he squandered in the first four games.

This cannot go long, since he has demonstrated a finishing touch, and it appears just a matter of time before he swings into gear and scores a Premier League goal.
