Wrexham co-owner’s hilarious response to missing out funding for the club

Ryan Reynolds, co-owner of Wrexham AFC, joked about selling one of his children after learning that the club might miss out on UK Government support.

The club requested for a £20 million grant to assist renovate the Caes Racecourse’s Kop stand.

The hit TV documentary ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ caught the moment the club’s co-owners were told they would not be receiving funds.

The second episode of the six-time Emmy Award-nominated docu-series premiered this week on Disney+ in the United Kingdom.

“We’ll find a solution because we’ll need to think outside the box and do things differently,” Wrexham AFC board advisor Shaun Harvey told the co-owners.

“I’ll sell one of my children, I have four,” Reynolds said. I don’t even know what their names are.”

“I don’t have £20 million lying around,” Reynolds’ co-owner Rob McElhenney stated. I’m not sure if Ryan does, but I doubt it.

“He might say he does, but I would talk to Blake [Lively] because I bet you he doesn’t.”

This season’s series covers Wrexham’s promotion-winning season in which they won the National League and returned to the EFL.
