Gary O’Neil confirms new signing Santiago Bueno will be involved in a demanding week for his Wolves team.

Fans have yet to witness the 24-year-old centre-half in action since joining from Girona in La Liga on August 30 for about £8.5 million. Bueno was gone with Uruguay over the international break, so O’Neil had limited time with him prior to this week.

Unless O’Neil switches to a back three, the defender may not be able to force his way into the team ahead of Craig Dawson or Max Kilman at Luton this weekend. Wolves, on the other hand, play Ipswich Town in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday before returning to Premier League action against Manchester City at home a week later on Saturday.

In response to a question regarding Bueno during his pre-match press conference, the manager stated, “Santy is available.” He has been in the squad for the games but has yet to make an appearance as a substitute. So, yeah, Santy is available; he will be present. We also have a three-game week this week, so I’m sure Santy will play a role.”
