“Classic”: Gary O’Neil praises Wolves ace

Pedro Neto has caught the attention for Wolves this season as he has been at his creative best.

He already has four Premier League assists, which ties him for first place with Mohammed Salah.

He was unstoppable against Liverpool last week, with Joe Gomez unable to come close to him.

Because of this form, he has garnered media attention, as Gary O’Neil was directly asked about it at his pre-game news conference.

O’Neil heaped praise on the winger, describing him as a tireless worker who would be crucial for Wolves.

Neto is praised by O’Neil.

O’Neil stated during his pre-match press conference, as viewed on the club website:

“I didn’t see Pedro up close last season, and he’s had some injuries, but the improvement in his performances this season is because he’s fully committed to the work that we’re doing, to how we’re going to play, and to how it’s going to benefit him.”

“He’s attacked every training session with complete dedication, and you’re starting to see the results.” He’ll be tremendously essential for us; he’s a terrific player, extremely gifted, and he’s working extremely hard without the ball while still providing a lot of quality, so I’m very happy with Pedro.

“I spoke with him at length this week about his game and the bits we can still add to it, but he’s one of the ones I’m really pleased with the progress we’ve seen with him.”

Neto’s performances this season have clearly impressed everyone at Molineux.

Season of Neto thus far

Neto has been on fire this season, and the four assists noted above are simply the tip of the iceberg.

According to SofaScore, Neto averages 3.4 critical passes per game, which is a lot for a winger.

He also averages 3.2 accurate crosses each game, which is ideal for Sasa Kalajdzic’s game.

He has won 4.2 duels per 90 minutes and completed 2.6 dribbles, making him an all-around dangerous player for Wolves this season.

But, as is always the case with Neto, can he keep it up?
