Wolves have consistently generated chances in the first five games of this season’s Premier League, with Pedro Neto already having four assists.
However, Gary O’Neil’s team has only three points from five games, with their lone victory coming away at Everton at the end of August.
As a result, the West Midlands team is currently 16th in the standings ahead of what is expected to be their most important encounter of the season thus far.
While Luton are yet to pick up a single point since their promotion from the Championship, a win by two goals or more at Kenilworth Road will take the Hatters ahead of Wolves.
Luton Town have only played one match at home, a 2-1 defeat to West Ham United, and they have historically struggled in their most recent league meetings against Wolves.
Luton’s most recent triumph in such a competition came in November 1994, when the Hatters won a Division One game at Molineux by a 3-2 result.
Wolves, on the other hand, have gone seven games undefeated since then, with four wins and three draws between April 1995 and March 2007.
All of the games in question took place in English football’s second division, known as Division One or the Championship, although the two teams have nevertheless met in the last 16 years.
In a third-round FA Cup tie in January 2013, Luton – then in the Conference Premier – defeated Wolves, who were in their first season back in the Championship after relegation.
Stale Solbakken was fired in the hours following the game after Alex Lawless scored in the 46th minute to send Wolves to a shock defeat.
The two teams also played a goalless draw in a pre-season friendly on August 2, with Wolves dominating but failing to score a decisive goal at their Molineux stadium.
