according to reports : “Give a better account”- Roy Hodson issues

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson issues a warning to Manchester United.

Erik ten Hag’s team dominated from start to finish, while the opposition provided no resistance. Roy Hodgson expects Crystal Palace to “give a better account” of themselves when they visit Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday.

Manchester United defeated Crystal Palace 3-0 in the Carabao Cup third round on Wednesday night, thanks to goals from Alejandro Garnacho, Casemiro, and Anthony Martial. Hodson told Sky Sports after the game

“We must accept that our hopes and wishes were too strong today for us to make them a reality.” Then we have to accept that we are out of the Carabao Cup, while United continue their campaign. We now have a few days to lick our wounds so that when we return on Saturday, we can do better.”

There are several things that any United supporter can take advantage of right now. Sofyan Amrabat earned his first United starting spot and was outstanding throughout the game. However, Palace rested many of their stars and will provide a greater test at the weekend.

Mason Mount returned from injury to assist Casemiro on United’s second goal of the game. Finally, Anthony Martial snapped his goal drought to give our team the third goal, therefore ending Palaces’ participation in this game.

With the much-needed victory, United aims to put up a similar performance at the same location on Saturday. Dropping any points this weekend will effectively end the winning streak that has been quietly but gradually built.

Hodgson is obviously speaking in grandiose terms following the humiliation, but given that he rested several players, there could be a point there. Manchester United dominated but will face a tougher test against players such as Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze, among others.

Manchester United will need to be more convincing, particularly against inferior opponents in terms of talent. Ten Hag will have to take things one game at a time, with the immediate goal being to let Hodgson have his fair desserts.
