Evertons’ key player sent vexing messages to the club over his suspension.

Dyche must unleash the Toffees’ wizard ahead of Danjuma.
Sean Dyche could make changes this evening ahead of his team’s trip to Villa Park.
Everton earned their first Premier League victory of the season with a 3-1 success away to Brentford at the weekend, with the returning Dominic Calvert-Lewin securing a much-needed triumph for the Toffees in west London.

The Merseyside outfit now have some breathing room at the bottom after opening up a three-point lead on the three newly promoted sides behind them in the relegation zone, allowing them to shift their emphasis to tonight’s Carabao Cup away to Aston Villa.

Sean Dyche’s men will need to improve after narrowly defeating League Two side Doncaster Rovers in the previous round, as well as having gone out at this point of the cup in each of the previous two seasons.

What changes will Everton make in their match against Aston Villa?
Fresh after scoring clinically against the Bees last time out, Calvert-Lewin could try to build up his fitness by leading from the front this evening, with Dyche possibly pairing the Englishman with summer acquisition, Beto across the middle.

After scoring on debut to help the Toffees beat Doncaster last month, it’s a tantalizing idea to envisage the former Udinese player standing up beside Calvert-Lewin in what would be a genuinely imposing and physical striking pair.

Arnaut Danjuma, a former Tottenham Hotspur loanee who turned down the Goodison Park club in January, might then be restricted to the bench, having been deployed as a late substitution at the weekend.

While there is an argument to play the Netherlands on the sides rather than through the center, Dyche may instead give wing wizard Jack Harrison a long-awaited debut after the on-loan Leeds United man has been out through injury in recent weeks.

Will Jack Harrison face Aston Villa?
It is unclear whether the Englishman will play this evening, but injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar has claimed that the 26-year-old is poised to be “available” against the Villans, having played for the U21s last week.

That ability to contribute defensively is demonstrated by the fact that the quick-footed wideman ranks in the top 17% of his European contemporaries for interceptions made, with an average of 0.72 per 90, and in the top 8% for blocks made, with an average of 1.56 per 90.

That record stands in stark contrast to Danjuma, who averages just 0.18 for both of those stats, implying that Dyche may want to rely on Harrison against a Villa side that is currently in excellent form, having defeated Chelsea at the weekend.
