Predicted Sheffield Wednesday XI to face Sunderland: 5-2-2-1, Hendrick dropped
Sunderland visit Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship tomorrow night.
Sheffield Wednesday host Sunderland at Hillsborough in what promises to be another difficult game for the Owls, who remain winless in the Championship.
Xisco Munoz is keen for a win to restart his stay at Wednesday, who have only earned two points thus far.
Sunderland, meanwhile, have moved up to fifth place. Tony Mowbray’s team had won their previous three games before suffering a shock defeat to Cardiff City last time out, so the Black Cats will be eager for a victory tomorrow.
Who is supporting Sheffield Wednesday?
Momo Diaby is still out for Wednesday and appears to be out for the foreseeable future.
Bailey Cadamarteri, a youngster, has been practicing with the first squad this week, but Munoz believes he will not play against Sunderland tomorrow night.
How will the Owls line up?
Something’s got to give for Sheffield Wednesday. Munoz keeps chopping and changing to find the right formation for his side, but it doesn’t seem like the formation is what’s wrong; it’s the selection.
We could expect to see another sort of 5-3-2/5-2-2-1 formation for Sheffield Wednesday with Devis Vasquez keeping his place in goal, despite criticism vs Swansea City last tome out.
Elsewhere, fans may hope to see the likes of Michael Ihiekwe and Reece James return to the line up, though it’s difficult to see Munoz dropping both Bambo Diaby and Juan Delgado.
Anthony Musaba will hopefully continue up front alongside one of Lee Gregory or Michael Smith, though who might partner Barry Bannan in the middle remains to be seen; neither Jeff Hendrick or John Buckley have impressed as of yet.
