West Ham’s star delivers a strong message to David Moyes before their next game.

The Carabao Cup match between Lincoln City and West Ham United provided an opportunity for a number of periphery players to impress David Moyes.

There weren’t many great performances for West Ham against Lincoln, but one guy in particular would have given David Moyes pause.
The Hammers won the game 1-0 in the end, although it was a battle for the most part at the LNER Stadium.
Lukasz Fabianski was the man who kept West Ham in the game going into the half-time break.

After Alphonse Areola was elevated to the club’s number one goalkeeper, the 38-year-old has had to make do with warming the bench in the Premier League this season.

What an incredible save that was from the 38-year-old, and he showed such incredible agility and reflexes, especially given his advancing years.

Hammers assistant Billy McKinlay spoke to reporters after the match last night, and offered huge words of praise for Fab, as quoted by WHUFC.com

Lukasz Fabiaski has been a stalwart for this Club for many years, and he has clearly been outstanding in the previous two games. He made several fantastic saves tonight when we needed them, so he is completely dependable.”

Fabianski’s dilemma is that Areola has been quite impressive between the pipes this season.

All he can do is keep working hard and hope for another shot in the Premier League. The good news for West Ham is that Fabianski is definitely still a reliable stand-in for Areola, as evidenced by his performance against Lincoln last night.
