Unai Emery, the head coach of Aston Villa, has announced his starting XI for today’s Premier League match against Brighton (12:30pm kick-off).

Emery has chosen to start the same lineup that defeated Chelsea 1-0 last weekend at Stamford Bridge. He made five changes for the midweek Carabao Cup match against Everton, but he brings back Emi Martinez, Lucas Digne, Boubacar Kamara, Nicolo Zaniolo, and Oli Watkins.

 

Jacob Ramsey is in the matchday squad after clearing a late fitness test and will start on the bench, while Leon Bailey is out due to an injury suffered in midweek.

Martinez starts in goal behind a defense that includes Matty Cash, Ezri Konsa, Pau Torres, and Lucas Digne. Douglas Luiz forms a double pivot with Kamara in midfield. Zaniolo and John McGinn take the field first, with Moussa Diaby assisting Watkins’ onslaught.

Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Pau, Digne; Kamara, Luiz; McGinn, Zaniolo; Diaby, Watkins are the Villa XI.

Steele, Webster, Dunk, March, Gilmour, Welbeck, Mitoma, Ferguson, Estupinan, Veltman, Hinshelwood make up the Brighton XI.

Verbruggen, Lamptey, Igor, Julio, Dahoud, Joao Pedro, Baleba, Adingra, Van Hecke, Fati are the substitutes.
