A roundup of six West Ham United players’ current injury statuses ahead of the Hammers’ Premier League encounter against Manchester United at the London Stadium on Saturday evening.

Tomas Soucek, Thilo Kehrer, Kurt Zouma, and Declan Rice of West Ham United wait for a corner during the Premier League match between West Ham United and Arsenal FC at London Stadium.

West Ham United will attempt to get back on track in the Premier League against Manchester United on Sunday night.

The Hammers host the Red Devils at the London Stadium after losing their last three Premier League games against Liverpool, Crystal Palace, and Manchester City, leaving them in 15th place and four points clear of the Premier League’s relegation zone with four games remaining.

Here is a look at West Ham’s current injury concerns ahead of their third encounter this season against one of Moyes’ old employers.

Due to a knee injury, striker Gianluca Scamacca has not played since March’s home win over AEK Larnaca.

Following the incident, Scamacca underwent knee surgery last month after experiencing a variety of knee difficulties in recent months.

Scamacca was projected to miss two to three months of action following surgery, which would have meant he would have missed the balance of the season even if West Ham reached the Europa Conference League final on June 7.

However, speaking ahead of the defeat to Liverpool last month in his pre-match press conference, Moyes hinted that Scamacca might recover in time to play this season, albeit he added that there was no guarantee.

“Perhaps, maybe. “We haven’t gotten him back,” stated Moyes. “He’s had his operation, but we haven’t gotten him back yet.” With luck, my mind is arranging for me to be here till June 7, and that’s all I can hope for, but who knows whether Gianluca will be able to return for that.

“At the moment, I would say he’s not doing anything, he’s recovering from his operation but you know, we’re probably six weeks away from that, maybe longer.”

Kurt Zouma (ankle) is out.
After suffering ankle ligament damage in last month’s loss to Palace, centre-back Zouma was forced off immediately after Jordan Ayew tied the game at 1-1.

The Frenchman left the field in a protective boot and was unable to play in Wednesday’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City due to the injury.

Moyes stated ahead of the City defeat that, while they awaited a full assessment, Zouma was anticipated to miss “a few weeks,” which would keep him out for the majority of the Hammers’ remaining games this season.

“Kurt Zouma is the biggest fear, we think we might lose Kurt for a few weeks, but we’re still sort of assessing his ankle at the minute,” Moyes added.

“I wouldn’t say right now.”

Right-back Vladimir Coufal (hamstring) Vladimir Coufal was forced off in the second half of City’s loss after suffering a hamstring injury while making a cross at the Etihad Stadium.

Coufal has started each of the Hammers’ last eight games between April 8 and May 3, a period of only 25 days.

Moyes told football.london at full-time that Coufal’s problem will be evaluated by the club’s medical experts on Thursday morning.

“He felt his hamstring, so we’re not sure,” Moyes explained. “We’ll get him scanned in the morning, we’ll see how he is.”

Declan Rice is out with an illness.
Declan Rice was one of three players forced to withdraw from the team hours before kickoff due to illness, missing a Premier League match for the first time in 14 months.

After the game, Moyes stated that all three players, including Rice, were sent home owing to illnesses, with one suspected of having a virus and the other two perhaps suffering from food poisoning, with a member of staff also absent due to illness.

Rice revealed on his Instagram story prior of kickoff that he was suffering with a stomach bug that he caught on Tuesday night.

“I’m sorry to miss tonight’s game. I caught a bug yesterday and have been sick ever since.

Tomas Soucek (injured)
Tomas Soucek, Rice’s midfield partner, was also absent, and, like Rice, it was his first Premier League absence in more than a year, with his previous occurring 16 months ago.

Following the defeat, Moyes did not specifically mention any of the trio, but instead provided an overall assessment of the trio.

“I knew in the morning that there had been sickness and one of them had a real high temperature,” Moyes said.

“One of them had to leave at 11 a.m., and the other two left at 2 p.m. today, because they weren’t going to get any better.” We had given them time in the morning to rest, sleep longer, and assess their condition.

“They were with me in Manchester.”
