Despite Millwall’s displeasure, words of encouragement should offer Hull City hope.
The Tigers left The Den with a profound sense of frustration.
Hull City manager Liam Rosenior acknowledges his team’s inability to finish off opponents is the reason they are ninth in the Championship after 11 games.

As the second-tier stops for the latest international break, the Tigers are ninth, but only one point behind sixth place due to the crowded nature of the table.
City’s lack of cutting edge was on display once again as they recovered from behind to lead Millwall 2-1 at The Den in a dramatic comeback, only to deliver a sluggish second half performance and allow the hosts back into it.

After Jaden Philogene and Adama Traore scored within five minutes to see their side in front, the Tigers were dominant with the home crowd booing and jeering Millwall, but City allowed the hosts back into it and were forced to settle for a point, something which left Rosenior frustrated.

“So many aspects of our game are so good, so good but now we need to improve on killing games off when we are on top,” the City boss told Hull Live

. “There have been games this season when we have been on top, and we should have more points. The great thing is, I’ve got a group that are learning. I’ve got a young group and in the second half – in possession and out of possession – we made mistakes in terms of our positioning

“That is the gamble you take with young players – they must learn quickly. I have to analyse and help them quickly in terms of understanding. Because if we do get that understanding then I think everyone in the stadium can see the potential in this team today.

“The frustrating thing for me is that we’ve had so many conversations about this style of play. My first game was here, and we had to dog it out with 10 men – we had to be really organised, structured and disciplined.”
